Color, a new social network just for users of smartphones

San Francisco (AP). Bill Nguyen, a businessman who sold the lastof their company Apple is launching a new network based onmobile phones, with the aim of challenging the dominance ofFacebook in communications beyond computers.
Color is a free application for iPhone and Android devices that allows those close to each other simultaneously make and sharephotos, videos and texts with multiple phones in real time.
Since share photos and videos is one of the most popular activities on Facebook, the founders of color expect their nature, all aimed at mobile phones, create a new type of post networkpersonal computers.
"This transition to the world beyond the personal computer will be afundamental change, "said Nguyen. "We share more and moreinformation in real time, "he added.
Color is a free service with no user names or passwords, butNguyen and his team hope to earn revenue from advertising andmarketing services based on location.
"People are beginning to be aware that with devices like theiPhone can do things in a social network that could not do on a personal computer, " said Mike Krupka, Bain Capital Ventures, who has backed Nguyen Lala.
